ELVAC offers different types of switchboard cabinets for different areas of RTUs usage, including additional components and devices, that form the functional system with RTU.
Typically they are the following examples for the following applications:
- 19” rack cabinets, fitted with modular RTUs and accessories, used for substation control with high number of signals.
- Plastic cabinets for wall mounting, fitted with compact or modular RTU and accessories, used for monitoring and control of renewable energy sources, secondary substations or switching stations.
- Special metal cabinets for mounting on a pole or a pillar, fitted with modular RTU and accessories, used as an indicator on overhead power lines, or for control of reclosers, sectionalizers and load break switches. They are highly durable cabinets with anticorrosive coating with high resistance to weather conditions and possible vandalism.
Examples of delivered solutions
MONITORING AND CONTROL cabinet FOR primary substations AND SWITCHING STATIONS
In applications for primary substations and switching stations, a large number of signals are processed, so large metal cabinets are used, standing on the ground, in smaller versions they can be wall-mounted. Depending on customer requirements, common equipment includes e.g. internal lighting, ventilation grilles, sliding bottom for cable passage, or air conditioning or heating systems with regulation.
MONITORING AND CONTROL cabinet for RMU / secondary substations
Systems for monitoring and control of secondary substations meet the growing requirements for SMART networks, where the amount of measured data is increasing. The number of signals corresponds to the number of RMU outlets and the system is equipped with a powerful backup battery for the needs of control functionality even in the event of a power outage. The enclosures are mostly plastic and access can be through double doors according to the access rights of users and service personnel. An HMI interface is placed on the door to read states and feeders control.
MONITORING AND CONTROL CABINET for Fault Passage Indicators or Renewables
Applications for fault passage indicators on power lines or monitoring of renewable energy sources (RES) usually contain fewer signals, so smaller plastic enclosures are used, optionally with transparent doors. If a battery backup is used, it is usually only for the purpose of backing up the RTU function of the system itself, for which a small battery capacity is sufficient.
MONITORING AND CONTROL CABINET for mounting on poles and pillars
The basic characteristics of these enclosures are resistance to weather conditions and vandalism. They include mounting accessories according to the type of pole or pillar. They are used for monitoring and control of reclosers, load break switches and for outdoor fault passage indicators for overhead lines.
